To Our Influencers Friends and Family:
Suzan McKenzie, our dear friend and wife of Pete McKenzie, has gone to be with the Lord.  Six months after being diagnosed with brain cancer, she passed away quietly on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.  Suzan was surrounded by Pete, her children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and close friends of the family.  Pete said of Suzan that she lived a great life and died a great death.  She affected us all because she loved greatly, and those of us who knew her personally loved her greatly.
As we mourn the loss of this dear woman and share Pete and the family’s sorrow, we are reminded through occasions such as this of the joy of having our Savior Jesus waiting for Suzan to greet her as she entered His kingdom, and her eternal home.  We are reminded that death will not have its victory over Suzan, or the relationships we shared with her, for we will be seeing her again.
My last words to Suzan were to say to her,  “I’ll see you later,”  knowing that “good-by” was not accurate.  She cheerfully responded that she knows it, and will be waiting.  Join with me with prayers of thanksgiving for Suzan’s life, and for her precious husband Pete, as he continues to carry the torch for Jesus.

  • Pete,
May our God comfort you as He reassures you of His love for His Susan that He entrusted to you for this short while. She always has been His, as you are too. May He now be your ever present “one”. We too will be like Him one day. We will praise Him as we see clearly the perfection of His love for us through the uniquely marvelous earthly example we were able to experience through the oneness of marriage. I thank Him that He gave you that privilege here on earth with your precious Susan. She is now one with Him! Hallelujah my friend!

My heart aches for you and family over the loss of your precious Suzan, wife, mother, grandmother, and mentor. Thank you Pete for Mentoring Men and your supreme example of Faith in our Lord Jesus.

  • Pete,
Our couples home group watched a video of you speaking to Men of God a few weeks ago about the unified decision. With tears in my eyes i thought about how you have loved Suzan as Christ loved the church. Thank you for sharing the love of Christ Jesus with so many of us men. I love you, brother. Prayers for comfort.

  • First of all, I want to tell you how sorry I am that you have lost Susan, but secondly I want to rejoice with you and your family that she is going to see Jesus! Your message about Susan that has been shared with so many here in NWA has encouraged so many men and has caused many of us to think about what should we do if we were in your position or if the situation were reversed have I properly prepared my wife? Thank you for being such a great example to all of us. I have been praying for your entire family.

  • Dear Pete, I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet wife.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you, may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and your family, and give you peace.

  • Pete, I know you have a peace knowing that your precious Suzan is with our King – and that one day you will be reunited with her. I also know that there must be a little hole in your heart because she is no longer by your side. The Lord will fill that hole with Himself, because I know you will invite Him to do so. And I know that your abiding relationship with our Lord will carry you through this difficult time. Love you, my brother.

  • Pete,
I do not know you, but I know who knows you better than your loving wife, and your cherished children, He knows your every tear and your every gasp of wonder made by His hands. He makes the sun rise, and set. He loves you more than these simple words can say, and his power of love and tenderness can drown out any uncertainess in our lives. I pray for you and ache in my heart for your loss of your mate. I am praying that God’s will be done in your life.

  • Some people come into our lives with purpose and reason.
This is how I knew Suzan:
Not the leader, the starter or the closer – but observant & discerning.
Not high power or low frequency – but immeasurably wise.
Not pushy or critical; she guided gracefully with thought provoking insight
A brave women of God & Christ follower with a MOST beautiful spirit.
I loved sitting in HER kitchen just watching, listening, gleaning. My life was forever changed & propelled forward by her example of living out Gospel Truth. Before I slept last night, I may have felt some sugar cookie crumbs sprinkling down from heaven! That would be Suzan all right 🙂 I will see her in heaven, I know. She will be greatly missed by ALL those she inspired! Embedded memories to future hope. Love and many hugs to you and the “boys”. Audrey Lukas – so this was 1989-1997ish….in Munich. I can’t image the multiplication factor of lives changed. Please know Carl’s heart is with you.

  • Pete and Family,
She got to meet Jesus! Hang in there, I can’t imagine how hard it is. Praying for you all.

  • What a blessing it was to have a chance to meet Suzan a few times in our lives. They say the eyes are the gateway to the soul. Suzan’s soul was full of the light of the Lord and He shone brightly through her eyes. She is rejoicing in Heaven now. Our prayers are with Pete for his strength and comfort and that the Lord would provide peace somehow in the midst of this pain.

  • Pete,
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m told Susan was a true woman of God, I wish I could have met her. I met you at a M24 event in the mountains near Bakersfield two years ago. What a inspiration you were to me that day. That’s the day God changed my life and my way of thinking. Through you God spoke to me, and my life changed in a way that I can only describe as Awesome. When you spoke that day a told us that although you accomplished many things in your life. The one thing you wanted to be remembered for was being the best Man of God you could be. Those words that you spoke, I will never forget. I am now trying to live in a close abiding relationship with the Lord my savior. I have been a broken man for a long time, But I’m getting better day by day. Thanks to you and others around me. So Pete, you are a true inspiration to a lot of us. My goal is to be like you and be the best Man of God that I can be. Thank you for all you do and continue to do to help men find the love in Jesus Christ.
