Thursday - Rejoice in the Lord
"Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you're on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute!" (Philippians 4:4-5 The Message)

Okay, I know that some of you are licking your wounds because your candidate lost, one way or another. What do you do about it? Rejoice in the Lord.
Some of you are perplexed about the future and your anxiety is weighing you down. How do you deal with this anxiety? Rejoice in the Lord because He is near, and that is much better than a win in the polls.
Some of you are about ready to pull out and go look for cover for you want nothing to do with where our country is headed and the people who made it that way. Is there a cave or an "off grid" place to run to like many survivalists"are doing? Are you thinking that? What do you do about this thought? Rejoice in the Lord, for the world around you needs Jesus and you are His messenger to them by the way you treat them. You can't run from it with mind, heart or body. You are needed.
This is the time that we should help other people see that we are not interested in their politics but rather their soul, for after all, it is their soul that is much more important. You have been raised up for a time such as this and your Heavenly Coach is about to send you into the game. Now seriously, do you want to run from that opportunity when the Holy Spirit has been working so diligently in your life to prepare you for it? All the training you've been in has formed you for these times. But a winning perspective is also needed. So, let's talk about that needed perspective.
Politics come and go. Political platforms change. Politicians come and go. History unfolds and often repeats itself. Good leaders and bad leaders come and go and leave impressions, but they are still never able to change God's plans. Not believing this or not understanding this will create a conflict in a believer. We will never find the peace we seek if we do not nail this belief down. We must believe and stand without negotiation on the fact that our God is sovereign and His plans will prevail. We believe that His plans for our life and this country will prevail. No demon or human being and the plans of man can overcome our God's sovereign rule over our life. Do you believe this? You must, if you hope to find peace instead of the anxiety that weighs you down.
Speaking of history and the future. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:9 that "there is nothing new under the sun." The things we are facing now have been faced before. God prevailed then, as He will now and in the future. We are on His team. God's family has faced whatever we are facing today in the past and we are still here. The Church is still growing, though we have been a target for God's enemy for thousands of years. It is because of this fact that I am not scared of the future or will run from any oppressive difficulties that might be ahead. I expect them to be ahead for us. But I also expect that God will show up in a big way to counter any threat and make sure that His will is accomplished. Here's the secret to having peace even though we face threats. It is to desire that God will have His way, and it is His way that I want. "Do what it takes and do what you want Lord," is the cry of a man who lives with a victorious mindset. The victory is already won at this point, and what follows is simply God's will being done in our life as it is in Heaven. We can never lose when we enter this mindset. But it is not just about the way we see things. God is looking at other people and He wants us to see them as He does.
God is more interested in the soul of mankind than his politics or self-importance. Politics and politicians and world events will come to the end, but the soul will endure. That is why Jesus came. It was not to save governments or put certain leaders in office. It is to give our souls hope, for the question must be asked, "Where will your soul spend eternity?"
Guys, it's time that we understand that we have more important things to invest our life in other than political fighting and the trash we've seen exchanged by recent political figures. That stuff needs to go, and we need to get about our King's business. Now is the time to pick up the pieces in this nation and begin our reaping of souls, for the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Let's step up and be this laborer that Jesus told us to pray for. Let's go out and sow seeds of peace and water them with our tears of love. Then we will come back with rejoicing as we bring lost souls back to our King. Now that is reason to rejoice, wouldn't you agree?
"He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him." (Psalms 126:6 ESV)
