WEDNESDAY- Give Us Today Our Daily Bread

"Give us today our daily bread." Matthew 6:11 NIV
Jesus teaches us to give praise to God and then to pray for His Will to be done on Earth. Then, He encourages us to ask for our daily bread. I believe He wants us so dependent upon Him and His Will that we see Him as the source of our food, just like He fed the Israelites manna and quail in the wilderness daily. If they tried to save the manna for the next day, as if God might not come through tomorrow, it would immediately rot and be filled with maggots. (See Exodus 16) Similarly, His Word is spiritual food and Jesus is the Bread of Life. He wants us to feast on Him every day, letting Him nourish our spirits and give us spiritual energy and insight.
Father, You know what I need before I even ask. I thank You that I am well-fed. Lord, I have never known hunger. Forgive me when I act desperate and pitiful, when so many in the world truly live in poverty and privation. Forgive me when I don't trust you fully, if I've ever hoarded my resources, thinking they may not be there tomorrow. Lord, forgive me for putting my trust in my bank account or retirement account, as if they provide my needs.
Thank you, Father, that You give me Your Word on which I can feast spiritually. I am amazed how these words, ink on paper or dots on a digital screen, transform my soul and radiate throughout my being. Your Word is so relevant to my life every day. You give me nuggets of treasures every time I read Your Word. It truly is the Living Word for it gives me life! Lord Jesus, You told your disciples that they must eat Your flesh and drink Your blood to have eternal life. Though I cannot totally understand this, these words resonate with my spirit. We must receive You Jesus. Just like food sustains us physically, You sustain us for eternity. Fill us, O Lord, with your love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. Use us to feed others and help them become self-feeders.
Lord, help my brothers and sisters out there. Many of them have real needs today. They may keep these needs secret in the private place in their hearts. Lord, let them know that You not only want to meet their need, but You want to do even better. You want to give them Jesus. You want to give them Your Holy Spirit. You want to feed them for all eternity. Lord, use their need to draw them closer to You. Drown out the enemy's voice which tells them You don't care. Use their situation to mobilize the community of believers, fellow Influencers, to show them love by helping them carry their burden.
Father, we believe You will meet the needs of Influencers. You have proven this in the 15 years of this ministry's history. We thank You for that. We trust You to lead us where You want us to go, and You will provide a way to get there. Thank You for inspiring Rocky with The Journey which is helping people learn about the Feast in the Inner Chamber. Lord, You are our greatest desire.
