Thanks to all the Influencers brothers who attended our 1st Influencers Gathering. We had Influencer brothers from N.W. Arkansas, Tulsa, Dallas, Sacramento, Southern California, Bakersfield.
It was a great time of Worship, Celebration, Connecting, Encouraging, Affirming and Motivation to keep helping other men discover Intimacy with Jesus Christ.
Pete McKenzie did a wonderful job of helping us understand what it means to be a "Man of God"!
One of our Influencer brothers in Tulsa sent a summary of some key points he heard yesterday:
· Jesus started the first men’s ministry (think about it!)
· Men want to leave a legacy – our greatest fear is that our lives won’t matter.
· God doesn’t want to watch us struggle, he wants to watch us build HIS kingdom, he has already done his part to forgive us, to redeem us – now HE is ready for us to become HIS army of soldiers.
· The church is often looking for better methods – Christ needs better men.
· The typical church-going man is isolated, believes he is inadequate and is a “businessman” who happens to be a Christian, instead of a Christian who happens to be a businessman.
· God gave us HIS word/the Bible to change our lives, not to make us smarter.
· Always remember, other men are watching you.
· He spoke of the room of “good intentions”, a place where many of us live in a performance-based life. We intend for many things to be different but we can’t do it on our own. We judge our life on what we have accomplished rather than judging our life as a sold-out Man of God. Jesus keeps no record of wrong – “For there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”
· As Christ asked Peter 3 times (he didn’t state very many things 3 times anywhere else in his ministry so it must be very very important). “Do you love me?”. That’s the question for all of us to answer. He waits with great joy to change our lives.
· Performance based living will always block us from a deep and abiding relationship with Christ.
