The Christmas Witnesses- THE ANGELS

For thousands upon thousands of years, the angels have had a unique view of creation and the creatures of this world.  They have been engaged in great battles against the enemy and his army, those of their own kind, who fell from grace and turned to evil.   They have been dispatched to the earth to engage man with messages of good news, with words of warning and with aid to those in need.  They wrestled with Jacob and his calling.  They were in the fire with Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego in the fiery furnace.  They were at Lot's doorstep in the midst of Sodom and Gomorrah.

They have known the love of the Father and His concern for mankind. They were always quick to tell man, "Do Not Fear!"  One of them, Gabriel, got to tell Mary about her coming pregnancy and the significance of this sacred event.  One of them came to Joseph to help him see things through the eyes of faith rather than the eyes of the flesh.  They knew that this was an amazing occurrence in the history of mankind.  God was sending His Son to leave the holiness of heaven and enter mankind as one of them.  He was going to allow Himself to be engulfed by this sinful world where He would be tempted, where He would be scoffed, where He would be beaten, tortured and killed.

They probably knew about the plan or at least hints of it, and here it was on Christmas, and they saw that it was actually happening.

As the baby's cry was heard in heaven and the proclamation was made that Christ was born, the angels could not contain their enthusiasm.  They joined together in a great throng of celebration and their praise filled the skies above the shepherds and above the manger.  They glorified God, and they were so happy for men on earth.  They had been looking out for man for so long, and now, their Lord was coming Himself to live with them and among them and eventually, live in them after His death.

They speak to us still this day.  They are saying, Do you humans realize what has happened!  You have been saved.  Christ the Lord is here!  He has come for you!  Don't miss this!  Join us in worshiping Him.  This is a really big deal!  You can join us in heaven someday soon, if you believe in Him and give your lives to Him.  Praise God!
