Who Are Your Refugees? by Bryan Craig

July 20, 2021

And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2 ESV

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.  Hebrews 13:20-21

We read Rocky’s story about the Refugee Camp, full of these poor, pitiful souls who are starving, dying and getting picked off by the Enemy.  If we are not careful, we can begin to think the “refugees” are people living in the streets, strung out on drugs, or away in some impoverished country, awaiting a Mission Trip to save them.  Perhaps they are closer than you think.

Could they be living at home with you in your own family?

Could they be your neighbors?

Could they be your co-workers?

Could they be your college roommate who you haven’t talked to in years?

Could they be that person who calls themself a Christian, but who seems to live like everyone else in the world?

Could they be someone who has been through so much heartache and struggle that they are in a place of quiet desperation?

Could it be someone who seems to have it all together, but you sense is hiding something?

Could it be someone who has done every Bible study known to man, but still doesn’t seem to understand grace?

They are out there, everywhere, right in our midst.  Like the young boy in the movie, The Sixth Sense, said, “I see dead people.  They just don’t know they’re dead.”

Do you know any of these people?  Do you know anyone who needs to know Jesus and His love for them?  Do you know anyone who needs to know how to have an intimate, abiding relationship with Christ?  If you can’t think of anyone, ask God to help you have eyes to see.

So, here’s the next question.

Who is going to help them find their way?

Fellow Influencers, Jesus asks US to make Disciples.  He says the Harvest of souls is right in front of us, but FEW seem to answer the call.  He says He will be with us as we do His business.  He will equip us.

Please PRAY about leading a Journey Group, which has a 20-year track record in helping people find their way to Jesus and to a new life.  If you went through The Journey and it changed your life and you are NOT helping others find this, why are you keeping it to yourself?  There are likely people right in your midst who are just waiting for your invitation to join The Journey.  We were not made to go into the Inner Chamber with Jesus, lock the door, and never emerge!  No, He has a mission for us.

In cities all across America, there are desperate men and women who need an intimate, abiding relationship with Christ.  YOU CAN HELP THEM FIND THIS!  You can form a group locally where you live.  Just pray about a Co-Guide and then, once God sends you one, pray about who to invite.  You can also lead a group Virtually via Zoom.  This opens up doors to invite people you know who live ANYWHERE.  We also get requests nearly every day from people in new cities wanting to go through The Journey and we can send them to you.

We can help train you in guiding a Journey Group.  We have a Guide Mentoring program, and we have amazing Staff and Champions who can help you.  I think COVID was a WAKE-UP CALL, and we realize time is short.  If God is calling you to lead a Journey Group, please don’t ignore it.  Let me know how I can help you.  Send me an email at [email protected].

The hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.  Romans 13:11
