Journey Testimony from Scottsdale, AZ
Hear another great testimony from a young man in Scottsdale:
Tommy Cantania – An Intimate, Loving, Personal Relationship with God … I Needed That
I was asked by my brother-in-law, Austan, if I wanted to join the Journey. I didn’t know what to expect, but I attended anyway. My first thought was that it was another Bible study, but it wasn’t just that. It was more about having an intimate, loving personal relationship with God. I never really thought of my relationship with God much until joining the Journey. It made me question my relationship with God in general. I always went to God in tough times, for a better outcome of a situation or if I needed something. But God doesn’t just want me to come to him in times of trouble or needs but rather in all situations, whether it be good or bad. He wants me to abide in Him as much as He abides in me!
During the Journey my wife and I welcomed a son which was the best thing that has happened to us; however, a week later he was rushed to the hospital where he spent the next month of his life. These were very trying times, but I don’t think I could have gotten through this situation if it wasn’t for the strength and comfort God had given me through this difficult time. In a way I feel as though the Journey had equipped me for the storm that I was in because this period of time was the most that I’d ever come to God in prayer and guidance, and He was always there for me!
I missed a few months of the Journey with my son’s health issues, but rejoined to see it out until the end. I am glad that I had joined the Journey and am thankful for the guys that I met through it and for the way it changed my view of my relationship with God. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their relationship with the Lord.
